A Refree requires to be of high standard
in professionalism and conduct.
These
standards are as follows:

They must be in good physical condition & shall have played the
game, so as to have a good knowledge of Squash.

They must have natural or corrected vision of
20-20 and normal hearing.

They should arrive at least 20 to 25 minutes prior
to the start of the session.

They must have a full knowledge of the Rules of
the International Singles Game and Guidelines as laid down by the WSF.

They should dress and maintain their appearance in
a manner befitting the dignity and integrity of the game. Where an
Official Uniform has been supplied then this must be worn as required.

They may not drink any alcoholic beverages before
their match on the day they are to officiate.

They will not officiate in any match in which they
have a relationship with one of the players (or have been coaching them)
which might be considered as a conflict of interest so as to cast doubt on
their impartiality.

They should not criticize or attempt to explain
calls or decisions by other Markers or Referees to anyone other than
directly with those Officials, or the Championship Referee.

They may not bet anything in any manner in
connection with any squash event.

They shall not, except in the ordinary course of
controlling the crowds during a match, converse with the crowd before,
during or after a match.

They shall at all times conduct themselves in a
professional manner and give due regard to the authority of any official
Squash Federation representative, other Referees and Markers and other
Championship Officials.

They shall not give interview to the journalist
or statement in the media, TV etc. without the approval of the Tournament
Director.

Where a Referee gives a Conduct Warning, Stroke, Game or Match he must
submit a written report to the Championship Referee.
