ISP TO STAGE TOURNAMENT IN KAMTE'S MEMORY

Late Mr. Ashok Kamte

Ashok Kamte, the Super Cop who died in the terror blasts was one of a growing band of police personnel who used to play squash. Mahendra Agarwal, Founder Director of ISP recalls how Kamte used to play the sport and how he had met him along with the late Raju Chainani at the CCI.

When he was transferred to Thane as Rural DIG, he continued his play at the Jindal complex courts thanks to an introduction to Ashish Bhagra. Unfortunatley a knee problem forced Kamte to give up playing but he was keen about helping the sport. To keep Kamte's memory alive, ISP plans to have a tournament in his memory for kids. The first such event will be held in Feb 2009. But the regular tournament will be held every year in November culminating on Nov 26 the anniversary of the blasts.
