Jindal Won the Team Squash Championship

The second string squash team of Jindal packed enough guns to get the better of fancied Khar Gymkhana ‘A’ despite dropping the Opening rubber to emerge 2-1 winners in the Pratik Gems-NMSA Squash Team Championship, played at the Navi Mumbai Sports Association courts. After seasoned campaigners Laxman Joshi and Sunil Verma lost the Opening doubles encounter 8-11, 8-11 to Rajesh Rajani and Vijay Waghela of Khar Gym ‘A’ Laxman took the courts again for the singles match and his better ranked opponent Dhiraj Nagpal, winning 11-6,11-13, 11-9. to bring Jindal ‘B’ on level terms.     

In the deciding doubles match Kunwarpal Singh and Javed Mohd, Did the star turn for Jindal ‘B’ defeating Dhiraj Nagpal and Ritesh Bajaj 11-9, 12-10.Jindal ‘B’ took home Rs 20,000 as prize money and handsome trophy for their efforts while Khar Gym ‘A’ won Rs  12,000 as a trophy.    

The chief guest of the evening Vasant Bhadra (Pratik Gems)- and Mahendra Agarawal (Founder Director, ISP) give away the prizes of all the winners.

THE second string squash team of Jindal packed enough guns to get the better of fancied Khar Gymkhana ‘A’ despite dropping the opening rubber to emerge 2-1, winners in the Pratik Gems – NMSA Squash Team Championship, played at the Navi Mumbai sports Association courts.

After seasoned campaigners Laxman Joshi and Sunil Verma lost the opening doubles encounter 8-11, 8-11 to Rajesh Rajani and Vijay Waghela of Khar Gym ‘A’ Laxman took the courts again for the singles match. This time he proved triumphant over his better ranked opponent Dhiraj Nagpal, winning 11-6, 11-3, 11-9 to bring Jindal ‘B’ on level terms.

In the deciding doubles match, Kunwarpal Singh and Javed Mohd. Did a star turn fro Jindal ‘B’ defeted Dhiraj Nagpal and Ritesh Bajaj 11-9, 12-10.

 

Jindal Teams make  Semis

Jindal squash A & B team’s reached the semi finals of Pratik Gems – NMSA Squash Team Championship, played at the Navi Mumbai sports Association courts here on Sunday.

With the excellent team performance, Khar Gymkhana (A) and NMSA (A) teams also made it to the semis after a round –robin phase. Jindal ‘A’ faced a tough encounter with the hosts, NMSA ‘A’. The experienced pairing of Sonu Mirani and Shashi Gupta were tested by Laxman Joshi and Sunil Verma. Playing a well thoughts out game, Mirani and Gupta took the first game 11-9 but lost the second 8-11.

The third and deciding game was all Mirani and Gupta as they won it 11-6. Laxman Joshi came through in the singles encounter but was made to sweat against Hari Shenaya. Joshi’s Skill and determination gave him the edge as he beat Shenaya 11-9, 12-10.

With the tie at 1-1; the Vasant Bhadra and Leon Emanuel took it upon themselves to give their side a win. Kunwarpal Singh and Javed Mohammed of Jindal had other ideas as they forced a fierce battle which they won 11-7, 2-11, 13-11.

NMSA made to toil by Hyatt

The hosts NMSA entered the quarter- finals of the Pratik Gems- NMSA Squash Team Championship with a 2-0 win over Hyatt ‘A’ at the Navi Mumbai Sports Association Courts here on Sunday.        

The first encounter between the two sides was the doubles encounter between Emmanuel and IP Singh of NMSA and Vicky Kalludi and Mahendra Agarwal (who is the founder Director of the Indian Squash Professionals) of the Hyatt Regency. The contest was a close one. The two sides were neck-to-neck for most of the games and the match. It was the crucial points towards the end that decided the winner. The team of Kalludi and Agarwal ran the team of Emmanuel and Singh close but it wasn’t close enough as they lost 13-11, 12-10.        

In the singles encounter Harish Shenva won the first game with ease against Mukesh Desai but Desai fought all the way in the second. The players battled it out to script a highly entertaining match but Shenva held his nerve to close the game out 16-14 to give NMSA the win. In another tie Hyatt ‘B’ accounted for Chembur Gymkhana. The pair of Waqar Pathan and Sameer Mistry outclassed Navdeep Singh and Puneet Wig 11-7, 11-9. In the singles Mistry beat Anjum Sheikh 11-9, 14-12 to help Hyatt ‘B’ to proceed into quarter- finals

 

NMSA Struggles Pass Hyatt

HOSTS NAVI Mumbai Sports Association (NMSA) stormed into the quarter finals of the Pratik Gems- NMSA squash Team Championship with 2-0 win over Hyatt ‘A’ at the Navi Mumbai Sports Association Courts on Sunday.

NMSA Emmanuel and IP Singh clinched an engrossing doubles contest against Vicky Kalludi and Mahendra Agarwal of Hyatt Regency at 13-11, 12-10 before Harish Shenva defeated Mukesh Desai 16-14 to give NMSA the win.
