The
combination of Rajesh Sonavane and Bipin Batra from Willingdon Catholic
Gymkhana emerged supreme in the Club Prana Spa & Fitness Center-ISP
Doubles Squash Tournament, involving 16 pairs from the top clubs in the
city, defeating Dhiraj Nagpal and Rajesh Rajani of Khar Gymkhana 15-12,
9-15, 15-14 in a thrilling encounter at the Hyatt Regency, here, on
Sunday. After sharing a game each, the pair of Nagpal and Rajani were
leading 12-14, before Sonavane and Batra leveled scores. Nagpal then
selected best of one point to decide the match and it was ironical that
after a long rally involving about 20 strokes, Nagpal found the edge of
the tin when attempting a drop shot.
