Four of the six third round matches went distance in the handicap squash tournament, sponsored by Continental Contractors and Monarch and Timmy Builders, and played week-end.

In hard-fought five setter, Jitu Tulsania and Akshay Jaisingh of Otters Club put it across clubmates Neil Raheja and Ravi Raheja 3-2.

After being level at 2-2, the due of Jitu and Akshay won the decider 17-16.

 

Inderpal and Leon prevail

Inderpal and Leon of New Bombay Sports Club won a ding-dong tussle against Salim and Toliya of Juhu Centaur at 15-14, 15-17, 15-10, 15-9, 15-14 in the first round of the handicap doubles tournament co-sponsored by Continental Contractors, Monarch and Timmy Builders.

The tournament is played every Saturday at various clubs and has a total prize money of Rs.8,000.

 

Jitu and Akshay move up in handicap squash tourney

In a hard-fought five-setter, Jitu Tulasnia and Akshay Rajsingh beat Neil Raheja and Ravi Raheja (3-2) 15-13, 9-15, 8-15, 15-14, 17-16 in the third round of the Continental Contactor, Monarch and Timmy Builders doubles handicap squash tournament. The event has been co-sponsored by Haveli Restaurant.

THE MAHARASHTRA squash professionals will be organizing an open doubles handicap squash tournament, to be played every Saturday from September 14 at various clubs in Bombay.

The Rs.21,000 tournament is sponsored by Monarch and Timmy Builders and co-sponsored by Haveli Restaurant.

The tournament will be played on the American scoring. 15-points game system.

The last date for submitting entries is September 7 and should be addressed to ISP, Monarch Chambers, Marol Maroshi Rd, Andheri – East or faxed to 28525589.
