In the one day Open Squash Challenge Tournament, played at the Khar Gymkhana on Sunday Haveli Restaurant & Bar won the team championship beating Hyabs Leather Works by 6 games to 3.

The tournament which was organised by Abbas Syed Ali captain of the Hyabs Leather Works and Subhash Wali captain of the Haveli Restaurant & Bar was enthusiastic and successful with the support of Chandrakant Pawar  National Champion eight times, and was also the chief guest of the tournament.

The best match of the tournament was between Sanjay Goyal and Uday Mehra where the latter won in a close fight by 3 sets to one.

Abbas Syed Ali is a Centaurs and Holiday Inn’s No.1 player, who was earlier under the training of Baburao Salvi later switched on to Pawar before he could take up to acting in Hindi movies in order to lose weight. Within a month he lost maximum weight, practicing for a month or two at Leela Kempinski’s court and has improved his game much better than what it was before, in this tournament he lost to Ashish Soni in 4 sets.
