  • 1997: Winner of plate event in hongkong open individual championship/Winner of all India Interschool team Championship, under 19/Winner of Interschool team championship, under 19/Runner up in under 19, Central India Championship/Runner up at Videocon Squash Classic, under 19.
  • 1996: Represented India in British Junion Open, Under 16/Winner of Asia Pacific Championship, Malaysia in Under 19/Winner of under 16 in HongKong Open Juniors/Winner in under 16, Interschool individual championship/Winner in under 16, All india interschool team championship/Runner up in Poona Open, under 19/Winner in KingFisher Diet under 16 championship.
  • 1995: Selected to represent India in Milo Dunlop & Perrier asian juniors in Malaysia/Selected to represent India in Asian under 16 Junior Satellites in Singapore and Malaysia-finished 5th overall/Runner up in under 16, Western India championship/Runner up in under 16, Kingfisher Diet championship/Runner up in under 16, Interschool team championship/Runner up in under 19, Delhi State Championship.

This talented 16-year-old from Delhi enjoyed probably his best season in 2000 when he beat senior players like Junaid Nathani and Vishal Kapoor to win titles in the under-19 age group, even while totally dominating the under-17 age category.

Gaurav’s rise has been steady. He was national champion in the under-15 category and has also won the national championship in the under-17 category. Tall and wiry, Gaurav has upstage his more fancied seniors like Nathani and Vishal Kapoor. People in the know are impressed with the youngsters grit and determination.
