This
talented 16-year-old from Delhi enjoyed probably his best season in 2000
when he beat senior players like Junaid Nathani and Vishal Kapoor to win
titles in the under-19 age group, even while totally dominating the
under-17 age category.
Gaurav’s
rise has been steady. He was national champion in the under-15 category
and has also won the national championship in the under-17 category. Tall
and wiry, Gaurav has upstage his more fancied seniors like Nathani and
Vishal Kapoor. People in the know are impressed with the youngsters grit
and determination.
